And I’m watching Him ACT

Trust in the LORD, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the LORD,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him, and he will act.
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,
and your justice as the noonday.
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,
over the man who carries out evil devices!
(Psalm 37:3-7 ESV)

The other day I was walking around my classroom, observing my students as they worked on their assignment…
And these words POPPED into my head.

TRUST.

That’s a word I’ve been thinking a lot about…
and I think it’s why this passage came to mind.

But then, I thought through the passage and I realized there are a lot of
ACTIVE
words in it.

TRUST, DO, DWELL, BEFRIEND, DELIGHT, COMMIT, TRUST.

Trust bookmarks the actions….
and when we trust we should also – DO, DWELL, BEFRIEND, DELIGHT, and COMMIT.

Then there’s an

AND

because our action isn’t the end.

AND

HE will ACT

HE will bring forth…

and there’s a STILLNESS, that relies on the TRUST as we WAIT PATIENTLY for him…
and FRET NOT…
well, that’s another active choice…
an active choice of dependence.

So, following Jesus…
It’s TRUST.
It requires ACTION.
AND
dependence.

And that’s what I thought about while I walked around the room…

And I’m watching Him
I’m learning day by day what it means to TRUST
and what it means to DO, DWELL, BEFRIEND, DELIGHT, and COMMIT…
and to depend

And I’m watching Him ACT.
